About Nick Meima – Celebrant
I am Nick Meima – Celebrant. My goal is to assist in the creation of a unique, personalized ceremony that ultimately captures what is in your heart and in your imagination.
The analogy of building a new home may apply. A good architect will ask questions that will clarify the purpose and use of the spaces to be built. The final design will often be beyond the initial imagination of the clients. So too with ceremonies. Most of us have been conditioned by our previous experiences. As a result we have no clear sense of what is possible and can’t imagine any thing different. My experience with clients is that, prior to working together, they did not realize a ceremony experience could be created that would meet their needs so completely.
I will help choose the right words, the right music, and suggest the elements that will make your celebration more meaningful, and memorable for you-guided by your wishes and values. You have the final say about the ceremony. It is your ceremony to be created personally for you.
I work with people from all beliefs, philosophies, backgrounds, and walks of life. I have an extensive background working with people in many contexts. I have academic training in Psychology, Gerontology, Marriage, Family and Child Counseling, Spirituality and Religion, Celebrant training, management, and organizational change. I am married and have four adult children (two biological and two step children). The training and life experience have prepared me to co-create your ceremony with sensitivity, originality and imagination. My overriding passions are creating ceremonies and creating community. Whatever the occasion or event—marriage, commitment ceremony, a life transition, memorial or funeral, separation or divorce—it should be unique and have enduring meaning for you, your family, and your friends.
